After graduation, I began working with the Anne Arundel County Health Department. I was licensed as a Psychologist in May of 1989, and began private practice work shortly thereafter. I now work solely in private practice. I practice within the Ethical Code of the American Psychological Association, and my Maryland License # is 2440.
Therapy is essentially a relationship between the client and the therapist. The client can be an individual, a couple, or a family. The initial focus of the therapy is on understanding the thoughts, emotions, and the life situations that concern the client. Therapy then offers the support, skills, and direction which facilitate the client's desired changes. Implementing those changes, however, is up to you!
